Kevin Williams, MBA, MS, VP & Head, Clinical Solutions, Ledger Run

David Rodin, M.Eng, CEO, Amici Clinical Research

Description

CTA budget negotiations are a necessary evil, which ultimately, are just another roadblock standing in the way of patients receiving the care they need. The time between site selection and the presentation of the budget is often a cause of discomfort for all stakeholders as expectations are high- the site hopes it's not miles apart and the sponsors/CRO wish for rapid agreement to start enrolling. This webinar will identify strategies to remove some of the mystery and expedite processes.

Learning Objectives

1. Recognize the importance of ‘homework’ to promote site sustainability;

2. Understand the language and expectations of each party involved;

3. Learn proactive efforts that can be made to improve budget negotiations when it’s ‘game time.’

Presenters

Kevin is a proven life sciences professional with a successful history and passion for developing and implementing innovative solutions in the clinical trial space. With over 20 years in pharma and healthcare, his experience in clinical trial operations and management has been from multiple perspectives, including top-tier pharma and solution provider. Kevin focuses on technology-driven processes and solutions that challenge the inefficient models that pharma has long struggled to advance.

Most significantly, Kevin played an instrumental role in developing and delivering the industry's first dedicated investigator payment and startup solution with CFS Clinical, which was ultimately acquired by DrugDev in 2013 (and later IQVIA). He has published and presented frequently around the challenges of investigator site payments and contracting.

Before the solution-provider space, Kevin worked for Merck and was involved in many aspects of clinical business operations with a focus on trial financial management and outsourcing for all facets of clinical development.

David is currently the CEO of Amici Clinical Research responsible for various site roles including negotiation of all budgets. Pharmaceutical experience includes 17 years of process improvement and various leadership positions at Merck and Pfizer Development Operations, focused primarily on reducing drug development timelines and improving quality. Prior to his pharmaceutical career, David was a General Manager for United Technologies Jet Engine Aftermarket Consulting Services, as well as an operations management consultant. David is a Lean / Six Sigma Master Black Belt and studied Manufacturing Engineering at the University of Cambridge, England.
