Description
As members of SCRS Diversity committee, representatives from Emerson Clinical Research and Medidata will present an overview of key issues facing sites today with respect to recruitment and engagement of diverse populations for clinical research.  Patient advocates will provide their perspectives and insights on how sites can build stronger relationships in their communities. 

Learning Objectives
  • 1. Understand the key challenges of engaging with diverse patient populations
    2. Building stronger community connections to drive clinical trial awareness and enrollment
    3. Use technology to facilitate better clinical trial engagement with all populations

Presenters

Alicia Staley has over 20 years of experience in software design and information systems management and works to infuse the patient perspective throughout the product development lifecycle and help engage patients in novel ways. Prior to joining Medidata, Alicia worked at Cure Forward and Science 37 leading their patient recruitment and engagement initiatives to help advance clinical research.


Fabian Sandoval Dr. Fabian Sandoval, CEO & Research Director, has over twenty years of bench to bedside research experience. His diversified research career has been in academia, healthcare systems and the public sector. He received his Doctorate of Medicine from the Autonomous University of Guadalajara, School of Medicine.


Society for Clinical Research Sites, Inc. is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
