Description:
The conflict in Ukraine is changing the discussion surrounding diversity and inclusion and how we handle global crises overall. How can we better support people from different backgrounds who speak different languages, and what are some unique approaches we can explore to help others? In this webinar, we will be building on some of the conversations from the SCRS European Site Solutions Summit with lessons learned from the Ukraine crisis. 



Speaker Bios: 

Vivienne van de Walle, MD, PhD, CPI, CMO, PT&R, The Netherlands

Viviënne van de Walle studied medicine both at the University of Maastricht and at the University of Oxford. In addition to her MD degree she holds a medical research degree in Genetics, Pediatrics and Genetics.  In 2004 she successfully defended her thesis for her PhD in Auxology and in 2011 she passed the CPI exam. She has always combined clinical research with patient care and has been a full time principal investigator at independent clinical research sites. She founded and owns the independent research site PT&R (www.ptr.nu) since 2006. Her entrepreneurship is reflected by her skills as thought leader and in consulting, educating and managing at CROs, pharma, nutritional companies and in executive and advisory board functions at eCOA vendors and trade organizations i.e. ACRP, SCRS, TransCelerate, CISCRP and the NVFG. With her PT&R-team she was also the proud winner of the inaugural SPRIA EU award of the SCRS in 2018 . In 2019 she was nominated for the Clinical Trial Europe - Christine Pierre Life Time Achievement Award and in 2020 she was nominated at the 5th World Congress on Advanced Clinical Trials and Clinical Research for Women in Science Awards / Women Scientist. And in 2022 she received the Christine K. Pierre Site Impact Award by the SCRS.  She started her research career as a participant in a clinical trial and during the COVID19 pandemic has participated  in a vaccine  trial for HCP and a virtual predictive COVID infection trial. As a result, Viviënne has a unique perspective of the various sides of the table in clinical research and is eager to share her many years of experience. As she states: “I love it when you pick my brain”.

 

Anna Titkova, MD, PhD, Professor, MBA, Country Head Pratia Ukraine, International Operations Manager Pratia Europe, Pratia, Ukraine

Anna graduated from Kharkiv National Medical University with a PhD, Master of Science degree in Medicine. She works as a scientific researcher in Kharkiv Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education. She is an independent medical reviewer in scientific journals of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine with more than 150 scientific publications, 5 patents on invention, and the author of an international monograph in pathophysiology. In March 2020, she opened the Pratia Ukraine LLC and the 1st Ukrainian SMO clinical research site Pratia Clinic Ukraine as a part of international site network Pratia under the umbrella of Neuca group which works with ten medical institutions in four regions of Ukraine. Anna has an MBA and master’s degree in pedagogy, completed an internship in Harvard and Yale Universities, qualified as an international lecturer and senior researcher. 

 

Roman Fishchuk, MD, MSc, CEO, Clinical Trials Unit, Central City Clinical Hospital of Ivano-Frankivsk City Council 

CEO of a clinical trials unit that was founded from scratch in 2017 at a state hospital in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine and now developed into an organization with 15-20 multi-specialty trials running simultaneously with a potential to grow. One of the founders and current Board member of the Ukrainian Association for Clinical Research. Adept ENT doctor and principal investigator in otolaryngology with ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, experience in delivering patient care in both public and private settings with the use of the latest industry equipment and technology, as well as establishing own private practice. Proactive and dedicated to seeking opportunities for cooperation with international specialists. Strong knowledge of Ukrainian medical policy landscape through working with the Ministry of Health of Ukraine on reforming healthcare services. Proven track record of planning and executing projects in medical sphere.

Ivan Vyshnyvetskyy, PhD, Managing Director, Ukraine, FutureMeds


Graduated from Donetsk National Medical University (Ukraine) where he gained a PhD degree in Cardiology and an Associate Professorship in Internal Medicine. As a physician-investigator, he participated in over 70 clinical trials in various indications, including over 50 as Principal Investigator. Ivan worked as Head of the Clinical Trial Administration Unit at Donetsk Medical University until 2014. Since 2014 he has been working as an Associate Professor of the Healthcare Management Department National Medical University (Kyiv).

Since November 2021 Ivan works with FutureMeds, a fast-growing professional clinical research site network, as Managing Director Ukraine.

The President of the Ukrainian Association for Clinical Research since 2019.

Society for Clinical Research Sites, Inc. is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
